Kate is interested in all aspects of the creative process, especially as it relates to illustration and creative writing.

Her fiction was published by Ellery Queen Mystery Magazin in 2008. One of her short stories will be published by Highlights in the near future.

Kate is on her third re-write of a middle grade novel, and she's working on a picture book manuscript.  She is also taking photography classes so she can illustrate with sculptures made of wool.  She hopes to have a new portfolio ready this summer.

Kate is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.
