VIP Manuscript Consultation: $55 Members, $65 Nonmembers. This fee includes a DISCOUNTED rate for Friday night. If you choose this option, do not register for Friday night separately, but can stay and enjoy the additional fun and information.
Individual Manuscript Consultation: $45 Members, $55 Nonmembers. No participation in the rest of Friday night's events with this option.

Making Your Manuscript Smoke!

Revision for Novels & Nonfiction

Author Suzanne Morgan Williams is coming all the way from Nevada to Kansas to lead a practical hands-on workshop on revising.

Bring:

3-4 chapters (perhaps 20-40 pages) of a manuscript
colored markers
some 3x5 cards
notebook/paper, and
pen

Suzanne will provide handouts and we'll actually go through some of the re-checks and exercises she does with her own manuscripts. She has 7 ways to review your work plus tips. You won't want to miss this opportunity to get your manuscript smoking hot before sending it off to the editors and/or agent at our September conference.

Note: If you don't have 3-4 chapters of a novel or nonfiction manuscript, you can still learn from Suzanne's tips. Picture book writers might try the same process treating each spread like a chapter.

About Suzanne
Suzanne Morgan Williams is the author of the award winning middle grade novel, Bull Rider (Margaret K. McElderry Books, 2009) and 11 nonfiction children's books with more books on the way. From the time she wrote her first book, Made in China, Ideas and Inventions from Ancient China, (Pacific View Press, 1997) to the present, her work has taken her into classrooms to connect with students, to universities and museums to work with experts, and to communities to share experiences. Suzanne is also the Co-Regional Advisor for the SCBWI chapter in Nevada.
